Not only has the Forney I.S.D. been recognized as "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency, but they have established a track record for consistently scoring well above the state average on the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) tests.

Juanita Blackburn Elementary opened in 2005, Brown Middle School opened in 2006, and Smith Elementary School opened Fall 2008.
